Kurt was born and raised in Northern Mexico City. Coming out of a Roman Catholic background, His family was invited to a Baptist church and one by one, became Christians in his early childhood. Kurt asked Christ to personally save him and become the Lord of his life at the age of 15, after a sports evangelism program held by the same church plant.
As a young adult, through serving in the local church, he began to realize God could use him in full-time service, and in 2003, he began seminary studies in Youth Ministries and Theology. In 2003, he also met Bethany, a short-term missionary to Mexico sent to serve in his home church. In 2007, he graduated from the Biblical Seminary of Puebla, Mexico.
Kurt has served in church-planting, church pastoral and counseling ministry, youth ministry, teaching seminary courses, and in Christian camp ministry in Mexico.
As redeemed children of God and followers of Jesus Christ, we believe God has instructed us to share His Gospel with others for His Glory. God has uniquely brought us together, equipped us, and burdened us to complete this assignment in Mexico.
Bethany grew up in Grove City, Pennsylvania. She accepted Christ at the age of six, during a VBS program at her home church, First Baptist Church. As a teen, she was able to participate in local missions trips, which led her to realize God was calling her to missionary service. She continued to see God use her in full time ministry when she spent most of her summers working at a christian camp.
In college, she traveled to Mexico City for a month and was sent to help the Missionary Baptist Church of Valle Dorado, where Kurt was serving as youth leader.
After that trip, God heavily burdened her heart, and she could not keep from thinking of the millions of unreached in Mexico City. In 2006, she completed language training in Spanish and arrived in Mexico City to begin missionary work.
She was sent by First Baptist Church of Grove City, PA and partnered with ABWE, the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism.
In 2009, God continued to reveal his will in our lives and we were blessed to come together in marriage. We served in church-planting ministry with the ABWE Mexico City team through 2011, at which time we then arrived to Pennsylvania.
In June 2011, we welcomed our first born son, Tyler! In May 2013, we welcomed our first daughter, Olivia, to our family, and in April 2015, we welcomed our third child, Ezra James.
In July 2011, Kurt was officially appointed as a missionary with ABWE. We spent 2011-2013 in the US raising up needed financial support. 2014-2017 we served in Queretaro, Mexico beginning a church planting initiative in Mexico's fastest growing city of 2.5 million. Currently, we are home in PA on furlough ministry and will return to Queretaro Summer 2018 to resume the church plant work.
